The a two video channel installation about the histories of immigrants that passed through the ports of this city and into the offices of U.S Citizen and Immigration Services.
footage you see comes from a 16mm reel labeled “Candidate Interviews: U.S Citizen and Immigration Services”. Inside there were the descriptions of a family of three and one adult. The questions asked were:
Why do you want entry into this country?
What follows is the last record of their answer, a faded film with no semblance of an image that was supposed to be there. Disregard for this histories is what made me find this this film in the bins of goodwill.
